House Gmajnički had an area of 84m2 and was built between the 16th and 18th centuries and is considered a protected cultural property registered in the Register of Cultural Properties of the Cultural and Historical Urban Unit of Kastav of the 1st category of protection.
Within the project Kastav Smart Start, financed by the Operational Program Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020, based on the Call “System of start-up incubators in the area of the Urban Agglomeration Rijeka” (KK.03.1.2.20.), with a total value of HRK 3,581,1143.58, the house Gmajnički was converted into the KASPI business incubator facility, where all kinds of services will be provided to citizens, i.e. to new and existing entrepreneurs.
The incubator includes using a fully equipped space to acquire new knowledge related to entrepreneurial education and environment, using the working space according to the coworking concept of work, and using the conference room for educational and business purposes.
The entrepreneurial incubator KASPI is a valuable addition to the entrepreneurial infrastructure of the City of Kastav.
In addition to the support of other public sector organisations, the business incubator KASPI also has support from the private sector. It has a major technological partner, the renowned company Ericsson Nikola Tesla, which equipped this facility with modern technology.
As part of Kastav’s Town Day, the first edition of the Kastav Smart City manifestation will be held on June 2nd 2. and 3rd in Kastav.
The themes of the event’s first edition are sustainable development, green transition, smart housing and new technologies. On the newly refurbished Lokvina Square and in the new premises of the business incubator KASPI and the innovation laboratory InoLab, Kastav Smart City will gather representatives of the public and private sector, technology companies, academia, architects and urban planners, scientists, experts and innovators.
From the exciting program, we highlight the Smart City Expo corner on Lokvina square, presented by CEKOM — Competence Centre for Smart Cities, Regional Energy Agency Kvarner and local initiatives for civic energy (Drenova and Veprinac).
