ABOUT THE PROJECT

The project “Kastav Smart Start” is financed by the Operational Program Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020, based on the call “System of start-up incubators in the area of the Urban Agglomeration Rijeka” (KK.03.1.2.20.).

The total value of the project is 3,581,143.58 HRK, and it is implemented by the City of Kastav, from 1st March 2019 to 1st December 2022. March 2019 to 1st December 2022.

  1. Promoting and encouraging creative ideas to contribute to economic development by applying innovative and professional solutions based on knowledge and experience.

  2. Promoting and developing programmes for social inclusion and active participation of entrepreneurs in the development of society.

  3. Connecting the City of Kastav and local entrepreneurs with the aim of a common approach to solving the needs of the local community.

  4. Creation of new market-justified products or services.

  5. Regional economic and social development.

The target groups of the project are small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (SMEs) from the City of Kastav and the urban agglomeration of Rijeka, established in the last 5 years, as well as all those who want to start a business in IT activities, technical-technological areas and biotechnology.

As part of the project, all users will receive business support in the form of professional and consulting services, as well as the opportunity to promote and receive support for their product or service.

Activities

As part of the Kastav Smart Start project, the following activities are being carried out:

    1. Reconstruction of one of the oldest houses in the old town of Kastav and adaptation for the needs of the headquarters of the business incubator.
    2. Establishment of the business incubator in the fields of digital and green transition.
    3. Informing the public and potential users.
    4. Call for start-ups and existing SMEs.
    5. Provision of professional and advisory services to users.
    6. Organizing training and workshops in general areas of business.
    7. Organizing training and workshops in the field of digital and green transition.
    8. Organizing public events (presentations, B2B meetings, conferences, hackathons, etc.).
